Adam Palay – Breakthrough Energy Ventures

Adam Palay, an Associate Analyst at Breakthrough Energy Ventures, was the featured guest speaker for a webinar held on October 2nd at 12:00pm PDT. The webinar was co-hosted by Dr. Jim Williams and Fred Wellington of the USFCA Energy Systems Management faculty.

Adam spoke about his unorthodox path journey into climate tech, the value of interdisciplinary education, career pivots, and the work that he does at BEV which includes capacity expansion modeling, energy analysis of complex systems such as grid modeling with DERs and energy storage, deep carbon pathways and low cost carbon removal, and economical policy such as the IRA. The webinar ended with a Q&A session and career guidance for students looking to get into the sustainability space.
